NEW WORK
A14 SPITTALS INTERCHANGE, SLIP ROAD MAINTENANCE
The eastbound exit slip road at the Spittals interchange (junction 23) on the A14 will be closed for general maintenance for two nights from 28 August between 9pm and 5:30am the following morning. Traffic will be diverted to continue eastbound on the A14 to junction 24 Godmanchester, and back westbound to junction 23.
A1 BUCKDEN SOUTHBOUND, RESURFACING
Work to repair the surfacing on the southbound carriageway of the A1 between the Brampton Hut interchange and the Buckden interchange will take place for one night from 28 August from 8pm to 6am the following morning. The southbound carriageway will be closed and a diversion via the A14 and A428 will be clearly signposted.
M1 J11-12, ROLLING ROAD BLOCKS
There will be rolling road blocks on the M1 between junctions 11 and 12 in both directions during the night of Saturday 25 August. The carriageways will be reduced to one lane in each direction after 10pm. Once this has taken place Bedfordshire Police will start a rolling road-block which will slow traffic down and bring it to a stop for a period of time while the gantry is installed. All lanes will be open by 6am the following morning.
ONGOING WORK
SPEED LIMIT ON A1 SOUTHBOUND AND NORTHBOUND NEAR PETERBOROUGH
A 50mph speed restriction remains in place on the southbound and northbound carriageway of the A1 at Water Newton for safety reasons. Work to repair the safety barrier and remove the temporary speed limit is due to take place early in 2013.
