M5 Junction 2 to 3 closed overnight for gantry replacement work 24 August 2012

24 August 2012

The M5 between junctions 2 and 3, near Halesowen, will be closed northbound overnight on Wednesday 29 August to lift signs onto the new gantry which was lifted into place last week.

The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, when traffic flows are lowest, to minimise disruption to road users. Further overnight closures will be required in early September to install further signage on the gantry and remove the traffic management.

Through out the work and until completion there are 24 hours-a- day narrow lanes in operation on both sides of the carriageway to protect road workers aiming to complete the work as quickly as possible.

A diversion route will be signposted during the overnight closure and road users are reminded to take extra care when travelling along the carriageway while the narrow lanes are in operation.

For more information about this work contact the Highways Agency Information Line on telephone number 0300 123 5000 or email ha_info@highways.gsi.gov.uk.
