A traffic management summary for both new and ongoing work

A34 Beedon to Chilton Resurfacing
Resurfacing work on the northbound A34 between Beedon (Berkshire) and Chilton (Oxfordshire) continues this week.

The work started on Monday 13 August and is expected to be completed by Wednesday 12 September. Work to the southbound carriageway is already complete.

The northbound A34 between Chieveley and Chilton will be closed overnight between 9pm and 6am (Monday to Friday) as well as the northbound entry slip roads at Beedon, East Ilsley and West Ilsley. Road users will be directed to follow fully signed diversion routes for both long distance and local traffic.

A34 Sutton Manor Farm Bridge (near Sutton Scotney) Maintenance Work
Safety improvement work starts on Tuesday 28 August for five nights to replace a bridge joint on the Sutton Manor Farm Bridge, which crosses the A34 near Sutton Scotney.

The bridge which carries the Sutton Manor Farm Bridge over the A34, will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians overnight between 10pm and 6am Monday to Friday nights only; a fully signed diversion route will be in place via Barton Drove, the A30, Oxford Road and Winchester Hill.

A34 Milton Railway Bridge Maintenance Work
Surface repairs will be carried out on the bridge which carries the A34 over the Milton railway line overnight between 9pm and 5am on Friday 31 August, Lane two will be closed on the A34 northbound carriageway.

M4 Junction 12 to 13 Bridge Joints (A340 Tidmarsh Road)
Bridge joints will be replaced this week on the A340 Tidmarsh Road Bridge over the M4.

The A340 Tidmarsh Road will be closed overnight between 10pm and 6am for three nights from Tuesday 28 August to both vehicles and pedestrians. Road users will be directed to follow a fully signed diversion via Ashampstead Road.

M4 Junction 13 - 14 Shefford Woodlands Safety Barrier Maintenance Work
Overnight work continues this week to replace the central reservation safety barrier posts on the M4 between junctions 13 (Wickham) and 14 (Poughley).

The work started on Monday 20 August and is expected to be complete within four weeks, It will be carried out overnight between 9pm and 5am (Monday to Friday) using a lane closure and temporary 50mph speed limit on both carriageways.

M4 Junction 14 (Hungerford) Bridge Support Replacement Scheme
A major maintenance scheme continues this week to replace the bridge supports on the M4 Junction 14 roundabout near Hungerford.

There is a lane closure and reduced 30mph speed limit on the junction 14 roundabout below the motorway. On the exit slip roads at junction 14, drivers should use the left hand lane if they are taking the first exit at the roundabout, and the right hand lane for any other exit.

Road users are advised to drive with extra care through these roadworks, and to be aware that site traffic will be using the single lane section on the roundabout to access the centre of the roundabout.

The work is expected to be completed in January 2013.

M3 Hawley Lane Bridge Strengthening Work
A scheme to strengthen the M3 Hawley Lane Bridge, just south of junction 4 near Farnborough, continues this week. A new bridge pier will be installed along the centre of the structure to maintain the safe standard of the structure.

Work started on Monday 5 March with no restrictions on the M3, and a 30mph speed limit on the B3272 which runs under the motorway. The work is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Work will primarily be carried out during daytime hours, with some work carried out overnight between 10pm and 6am and at weekends.

A3 Send Interchange Surface Repairs
Surface repairs will be carried out at the A3 Send Interchange overnight between 10pm and 6am on Thursday 30 August. The northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads will be closed; a fully signed diversion route via local roads will be in place.

A3 Drainage Maintenance and Repairs
Drainage maintenance and repairs will be carried out on the A3 at various locations in Surrey and Hampshire overnight between 10pm and 6am with lane closures in place on the following dates:
. Tuesday 28 August for four nights - Ockham Interchange southbound
. Tuesday 28 August - Liss Interchange northbound
. Wednesday 29 August for three nights - Weston Interchange southbound
