The 2010 GreenFleet Arrive’n'Drive takes place at Rockingham Motor Speedway on 12th May, and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Now in it’s 5th year, the Arrive’n'Drive is very much the UK’s longest serving event dedicated to giving organisations the opportunity to test drive the latest low and zero emission vehicles on the market, and help reduce operating costs, save fuel and, overall, cut CO2 emissions.

2010 has seen more manufacturers confirm their attendance than any previous year, meaning a greater variety of test drives on the day. Already confirmed are Ford (cars and vans), Citroen (cars and vans), Peugeot (cars and vans), VW (cars and vans), Fiat (cars and vans), Honda, Hyundai, Mazda and Alfa Romeo. With Calor also involved to represent the LPG community, they will be joined by Proton, with factory fit LPG cars.

Following it’s successful inclusion last year, the EV Arena (Electric Vehicles) will showcase the latest electric vehicles on the market, with Allied Vehicles and their ZEV’s, and Aixam confirmed with Mega Truck and NICE product, giving electric cars and vans the chance to show what they can do.

Indoors will be the exhibition of the latest products and services that can assist organisations in “managing their fleets more efficiently”, such as vehicle tracking and telematics, leasing options, insurance, consultancy advice, fuel saving devices, eco-driver training services, etc.

The event is FREE to attend and includes all day refreshments, a lovely buffet lunch and also the chance to win a Garmin sat-nav!

All sound too good to be true? If you are interested in this “One Stop Shop” and want the “Touch, Taste, Feel Experience”, all you have to do is register online now, and then bring yourself, any colleagues and your drivers licence along with you on the day. It couldn’t be simpler!

For instant registration, please go to www.arrivendrive.greenfleet.net/registration

There are three events to look forward to as September 2009 draws closer. For a start there is the wonderful Pink Car Rally in support of The Little Princess Trust.

Pink Car Rally

My name is Sali Gray and I’m the very proud owner of a Pink Nissan Micra C&C. I bought it simply because I fell in love with it. Little did I realise the impact it would have on other people. The reactions to it have ranged from screams of delight (usually from girls, aged from about 2 to about 22!), to looks of sheer amazement. I do a ‘school run’ in the morning and spend most of the time waving back to little girls who are waving at me.
Around the same time as I bought my car, I read a small article about a new children’s charity, called ‘The Little Princess Trust’ (www.littleprincesses.org.uk). The charity sources and pays for ‘real hair’ wigs for children who have lost their hair, primarily through cancer treatment. The charity was started by a couple who lost their little girl to cancer. She found losing her hair very traumatic and her parents had great difficulty in sourcing a realistic looking wig for her. At that time, finding specialist, high quality wigs for children was very difficult and only after a long search was a suitable company found, who eventually made a wig for Hannah – something she enjoyed wearing, especially for special events. This company is now one of Little Princesses many suppliers.

When: 6th September 2009
Where: Hereford Hospital
Who: Little Princess Trust

For more information, email sali@business-advancement.co.uk or call one of the following numbers, 01452 618899 / 07974 771746.

As the drive to reduce the nation’s CO2 emissions gathers pace, GreenFleet Scotland will allow Scottish Fleet and Transport Managers to test drive the latest low and zero emission vehicles.

GreenFleet Scotland

GreenFleet Scotland is an event that will enable Scottish Fleet and Transport Managers to test drive the latest low and zero emission vehicles, available on the market today. The event is free to attend and will include all day refreshments and a buffet lunch. The Scottish Minister for Transport, Infrastructure & Climate Change, Stewart Stevenson, will be there to officially open the event, and set off the Scottish Eco-Driving Experience.
This will be coupled with an outdoor static display of vehicles, test drive opportunities and an indoor exhibition showcasing the latest products and services that can assist organisations in running their fleets more efficiently.

When: 8th September 2009 8:30am-5pm
Where: Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh

For more information, email Colin Boyton colin@pse-events.co.uk or call 020 8532 5704.

And finally there will be ‘Strictly Sideways’ at Rallyday 2009

Rallyday 2009

“Strictly Sideways” is the latest exciting attraction alongside the regular action-packed lineup at Rallyday, which takes place at Castle Combe Circuit on Saturday 19 September 2009.

The all-new “Strictly Sideways” competition will showcase rally teams demonstrating their drifting and car control in front of a panel of celebrity judges on a specially-designed route with excellent spectator viewpoints. The panel of judges will mark the teams for flamboyance, car control and pure entertainment value and there will be class winners for Rear-Wheel Drive, Four-Wheel Drive and Front-Wheel Drive!

For anyone not already familiar with the event, Rallyday is an annual show run by rally enthusiasts, which gives visitors a chance to enjoy the spectacle of a wide range of rally cars and rally stars in an open and spectator-friendly environment.

It comprises live action on the track with static displays in the paddock, and has something to offer everyone, from the rally enthusiast to a family looking for an enjoyable day out.

On-track action comes in the form of professional driving demonstrations, track sessions, rally car rides, circuit parades and a feature rally car stage.
Off track, there is a host of displays, where visitors can have a close look at some of the world’s most iconic rally cars, which have made rallying history through the years. The paddock is packed full of static displays, plus the main event stage where rallying celebrities are interviewed. There are also numerous trade exhibitors, ranging from major car manufacturers to individual specialists offering a diverse array of rally merchandise.
Rallyday Interactive is where visitors can be more than just a spectator.

Whether it be a WRC rally simulator, radio-controlled rally cars or a full-on white-knuckle ride in a selection of rally cars, there are many activities for people to participate in.

Tickets are exceptional value and – if booked in advance – cost just £10 per adult and accompanied children go FREE! Tickets on the gate cost £15 per adult, so it makes sense to book early. Ticket booking, in addition to information about track sessions, clubmans rally packages, strictly sideways entry forms, paddock parking, trade stands and spectator information, can all be found on Rallyday’s website at www.rallyday.com.

When: 19th September 2009
Where: Castle Combe Circuit

For more information, visit www.rallyday.com, email info@rallyday.com or call 0845 12 72559.
