To be fair it was the smug survey that gave you the content for this article, and Hastings is at the cheaper end of the car insurance world so probably not the best target.

There was never any need to widen the M25 clockwise approach to the QE bridge, the delays there are caussed purely by the toll booths themselves and the money saved by abandoning the widening would have covered the loss of toll income for decades.

Vince Cable is an idiot of the most disgusting kind by classing the lowering of fuel duty as a “freebie”. I suppose he takes a different view on “freebies” when filling out his monthly claim form. These people live in a totally different world than the rest of us with their subsidised food, drink, housing and traveling. How often do they fill their car fuel tanks up in order to get to work or to the hospital where they then have to pay exhorbitant parking. Fuel prices are crippling the economy and putting people out of work. I worked for a haulage company that made me redundant for this very reason.

I bet King John and the Sherif of Nottingham are turning in their graves for not inventing the internal combustion engine, because not a lot has changed the Fuedal System of the middle ages.

I work extensively in Europe and in non of my travels across the continent have I seen fuel that is more expensive than the UK, especially diesel which is cheaper than petrol on the Continent. Maybe some entrepreneur should run a line from Calais to Dover selling diesel at continental prices, they would be swamped with customers.

This accident was caused by a bank of smoke surely & it would be inappropriate to have driven through it at 70mph, so this is not a speed limit issue. This seems to be an excuse for the under-informed to have a pop at the long overdue limit increase. The mild increase brings us in line with similar European country’s limits.

I’ve probably owned more land rover vehicles than some people have had hot dinners in the last 30 years. The DC100 looks like a Mitsubishi. Gerry McGovern is absolutely the wrong person to be let loose on a defender replacement, he’s done some great work on the other luxury products, but this is a defender. And can someone explain why the landrover badge on the front is motorised???
