Institute of Advanced Motorists company profile
Institute of Advanced Motorists: As the UK’s leading road safety charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) is dedicated to increasing skills for all road users, raising driving and riding standards and helping to save lives on our roads. Becoming part of the IAM is a great way to enhance your driving skills in a safe, enjoyable and educational environment. The IAM introduced the Advanced Driving Test in 1956 with the specific objective of significantly improving driving standards. The tests use the principles of advanced driving, pioneered by the Metropolitan Police, and accredited by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). All tests are taken by IAM Examiners who hold a Police Advanced Driving Certificate and with extensive experience working with Police Services throughout the UK. The tests are not exclusively about safety, but to encourage the driver or rider to feel more confident on the road and to get greater enjoyment from the experience.
